Bracelet (Chapter 7)

Chapter Seven
Home Alone

New place, new things to see. I walked off towards a little shop sitting at the corner of the street by school. The house’s down here were all pretty old and dreary they all looked the same.

This little shop was kind of quirky, it looked like one of those little sleep outs. I peered into the window, all I could see was a little kitten sitting on a bed and a small lizard sunbathing on the light. I looked up at the racked sigh kneeling on the roof, it said “Pets with Paws.” It looked really run down, I will come back tomorrow earlier.

I walked home to find Johnny playing with his food on the table, so disgusting. There was a note on the table:

Be home late tonight, just got some work to
catch up on. Make your own dinner. Mum :)

Oh man, time to make dinner! I got out the nacho chips and chili beans. I’m not the kind of kid that loves to cook but I like eating the food. I put the nachos in a bowl and got a sauce pan out, then I chucked in the beans.

After eating my scrumptious dinner (more like cold and tasteless) it was almost 6.30pm and that's exactly the time Johnny goes to bed so I said good night and put him to sleep with a story about cars, trucks and noise machines. I sat in bed reading my new book I got out of the library at school. “Hunt or seek” my mind was so stuck in the story

"I was running through the forest all I could see behind me was a giant bear, I gripped my sword with fear and kept on running until..."

I heard a knock on the door, “Open up Sophie” I wondered to the hallway, Johnny was playing with the lock on the door. I pushed him aside and opened it, Mum came rushing in with hundreds and hundreds of bags obviously from shopping. Johnny jumped into bed without a word after Mum came and told him off.

  1. You have really built up the reader's anticipation in this chapter, Natasha.

I especially like your stories within the story: the one your narrator is reading and the note her mum left. That's very clever.

Wow your story is great. I love reading this story. The thing I like best about this story is that you don't know what is going to happen. I can't wait for the next chapter.
    Keep up the GREAT WORK!
