Read, read and read

This holidays I read five books. They were called:

  1. Diggers- Terry Pratchett
  2. Billy and Old Smoko-Jack Lasenby
  3. Kasper the Prince Of Cats- Michael Morpurgo
  4. Dear Olly- Michael Morpurgo
  5. The Travelling Restaurant- Barbara Else
These books were all really good and are my top books. But I had one that really stood out for me it was very interesting I read it nearly in two days. This was my favourite paragraph in the book-

She waded to shore. As she set her foot on land, a shiver went through her. The look of victory in her exquisite face increased. But then her outline shuddered. She raised her hands to the crown, and her fingernails went right through it as if it was pudding. The crown had started to dissolve. It trickled onto her hair. Her hair melted too, and then her face, her shoulders- dissolving, seeping- her arms, her clothes. Lady Gall was a melted pool upon the platform- steam sizzled from it. - The Travelling Restaurant By Barbara Else

It was a great book and I hope I can get the second book. Make sure you read one of these books!

  1. You should be very proud of your reading in the holidays, Tash!

I like how you added a recording of a paragraph from your favourite book. It is neat to hear you pronounce difficult words like exquisite!

That word made me think, I didn't know what to say. Have you read any of Barbaras adult books?

    2. You're welcome, Natasha.

You pronounced the word well and I like hearing you think about it. I have not read any of Barbara's adult books but I think I should now!

  3. Wow! I'm very pleased that you liked the Travelling Restaurant so much. And that paragraph was one of my favourites too, when I was writing it. Writers need good readers, and you have made my day. Thank you! Best wishes, Barbara Else

I can't believe I am talking to you right now, you are incredible! Once I bought the travelling Restaurant, I knew at once this was going to be the best book in the world, which it is. My favourite character was Sibilla, Jasper and the monkey. Sibilla sounded like a really cute baby sister to have. Thank you so much! All the best Natasha

  4. Natasha, that is so exciting! It is very cool to get a comment from one of the authors. I used to work for a famous author in England. Authors are very cool people.

  7. Wow what an inspiring way to share your enjoyment of a book, a particular passage in the book and receive feedback from the author, Natasha. I'll be sure to direct my class to red this on your blog.
